So, papaya leaves for dengue??

Can try.. worth trying infact!

One recent *local study shows that  *" DENGUE PATIENTS" that consume papaya leaves had their *"PLATECOUNT " RISE faster..!

but take note of the * THING man!!

My humble comment in appraising the article:

1) Although the study was a RCT ( in medicine RCT is THE "BEST" method in conducting study) but the sample size is quite "smallish" ... ( ONLY like 110+ odd patients completed the study on each arm)

I guess, this is my advice to my patients:

" I personally will accept the study. It is a great effort but i am considering it as a preliminary study.. It needs a bigger sample size considering the prevalence of the disease condition..with that limitation in mind... the findings may work in some and may not work in others BUT WORTH TRYING..

2)  Well, according WHO there are 4 grades of dengue.. the group that enter the study was selected from grade 1 and 2..mildest-mild ones..

only those fit with the criteria below included in the study..

 (a) male and female patients above
18 years and below 60 years old,
 (b) all patients who could
Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine 3
understand or read Bahasa Malaysia or English irrespective
of race,
 (c) patients who were confirmed to have DF or DHF
grade I and II,
 (d) patients with a platelet count of less than
or equal to 100,000/𝜇L,
 (e) patients with a baseline alanine
transaminase (ALT) level of not more than 3 times of the
upper limit of the normal range (notmore than 165U/L) ( yang bengkak hati dia sikit2 jer..)
(f) patients with a creatinine kinase (CK) value of less than
500U/L.

Yang x masuk book

(a) dengue hemorrhagic fever
grade III and IV,
(b) pregnant or lactatingwomen,
 (c) patients
who have received blood or blood products transfusion
during the current hospital stay, (
d) patients with underlying
comorbids,
(e) patients who developed Hepatitis with a
serum ALT level 3 times higher than the upper limit of the
normal range (>165U/L),  (bila liver tuuu dah ding dong!)

 (f) patients with a creatinine
kinase (CK) value of more than 500 U/L. (bila kidney tuu dah ding dong!)

#### klu den rajin dan ngantuk buat kerja den kongsi plak grade2 who pasal dengue..### itupun klu dema kepoci..###

but in short.. yang x stabil tu x lah di eksperimen amek pucuk betik...####

3) ni YANG PENTING..

the thing that makes most patients collpase is the SALUR DARAH BOCOR... the platelet count turun tu satu hal... but , study NI X TENGOK BAB itu...

wasalam... dah pi buat stretching..! bo la baca blog den..;)
